Most Influential Makeup artist gets her own makeup line
So what makeup brand would you prefer this season? Weather is really getting hot out and you worry that your makeup would flow with your sweat and give you a greasy look. There are hundreds of brand giving you perfect weather taste but only few live upto your expectations. But the one we would be discussing is a new makeup line by one of the most influential makeup artist in the world.
It’s Singapore who would get the first to taste the choice. Most of us know about Ellis Faas, the make-up artist whom Vogue Paris has called “one of the most influential make-up artists of her generation. Faas’ international break-through came when Mario Testino was in the Netherlands to do a shoot for L’Uomo Vogue. In Ellis Faas’ portfolio he found the style of makeup he wanted, and this was the start of a fruitful collaboration. After Testino, the rest of the world followed, and since then she frequently worked with many photographers.
From the tawny peach of a freckle to the pure, vivid red that pulses through our veins, the ELLIS FAAS Human Colours collection looks to the human palette for inspiration. The colours that exist naturally in our bodies are complex and rich, but they’re also universal, shared by each and every one of us.
Products in the line run the same gamut as most other makeup brands, with creamy lipsticks (S$48) and shiny lip glazes (S$48), powders (S$49) and mascaras (S$64), but the Creamy Eyes eyeshadows (S$55) are the ones we’re looking forward to the most to giving a whirl. With a blend of flower and coffee extracts, the eye shadows are said to transform from its original liquid consistency to a matte powder upon application, leaving behind a smooth finish and rich colour that does not crease. Of course, there’s the novelty of applying eyeshadow with a pen.
