The Paris Motor show is popular for displaying some of the most unique and futuristic luxury vehicles however for this year the show also displayed a Piano which due to its distinctive design deserves to be part of the 2012 Pars Motor Show. Peugeot Design Lab and French piano manufacturer Pleyel have together created a prototype of a futuristic grand piano, with an avant-garde look inspired by automotive design.

The Piano was recently launched as the part of number of original projected designed by Peugeot Design Lab. Amongst all of those the most distinctive one is a Grand Piano concept developed in partnership with French piano manufacturer Pleyel.

The grand Piano is result of a unique collaboration of French fine art and design, Peugeot Design Lab along with Pleyel as both have created a unique piano that not only looks futuristic but also combines some extraordinary features to make this a one-of-a-kind piano. With a body and soundboard crafted from the wood, the piano features a single gravity-defying cantilevered carbon fiber leg that makes the piano look nothing like what you would expect from one.

The lid of the piano can be opened up just with one hand and a lowered mechanism on the piano lets you see across enabling the player to closely hear what he is playing and for the audience to see the player’s fingers. The piano costs a little more than $210,000.

We have also learned that this is not the first time a carmaker is attempting to translate the automotive design language and philosophy to a piano. In the year 2009 Audi partnered with Bösendorfer and presented its own design study.
Piano gives enough reasons for you to get attracted toward it.
