GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI PUTS BEST FOOT FORWARD FOR FALL IN SINGAPORE

Giuseppe Zanotti’s Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection was inspired by the fashion photography of Helmut Newton. Newton is most famous for his nude photos of women taken in 50′s & 60′s. Many of Zanotti’s designs are also great examples of popular shoe trends this fall including colorful fur and “ankle candy”. We also see a variety of embellishment including crystals, studs, spikes and gold heel caps. Several celebrities have already worn this collection: Scarlett Johansson was spotted in the crystal embellished stiletto during The Avengers promo tour; Jennifer Lopez wore the snake/wave sandal on American Idol and Selena Gomez performed in the ankle-wrap sandal.
Fall came teetering into sunny Singapore on the most fabulous of heels, as Giuseppe Zanotti showed off its Autumn-Winter 2012 collection at its swanky ION boutique. With friends of the coveted designer shoemaker mingling with flutes of festive bubbly in hand, the exclusive preview of this season’s collection was hosted by the fabulous Shabnam Melwani-Reis and Belinda Chua, who took the VIP stylistas through the trove of vintage-tinged, ornately embellished women’s shoes. The plethora of styles available meant there was something for every woman and every occasion, from androgynous, downtown loafers to boardroom-ready pumps to the showstopping platform stilettos strapped on the perfect ambassador, the hostess herself, Shabnam Melwani-Reis.
The intimate gathering was a fun, girly time for all, culminating in the surprise presentation of an edible shoe-bedecked cake to Ong Meng Hui, a devoted shoe collector and Giuseppe Zanotti Design fan.
Giuseppe Zanotti comes from a small town a few miles from Fellini’s Rimini, famous for its great shoe manufacturing tradition. Since launching his line in 1993, over the years Zanotti’s spirit has remained the same – naïve and rock ‘n’ roll – while keeping one eye on the past and on the manufacturing tradition and the other on the future and on research. His creations are true to his initial inspirations, where art and music are essential feelings to be turned into style for our feet.
