Times never remain the same as it has the bad habit of changing. Changing time heavily influences human lives. Many of such changes are widely welcome but there are few which are still questionable but true. One of such effect of change in human behaviors was discovered by a new research carried out in UK which tells the fact about people preferring luxurious life and monetary status over their relationship status.
Till now we lived our lives with a slogan family that’s eats together, lives together. But soon this fundamental concept is seemed to take leap with passing the time. With people preferring to have money over family and friends we doubt if there would be any term like family even exist. According to the research, Britons ‘believe that they can afford a luxurious life on 4,413 pound-a-month after tax and national insurance are deducted’. This is apparently wishful thinking because this would mean that the annual pay package has to be over 80,000 pounds, more than three times the national average of 26,100 pounds.
With this the time to come would only be about the money and no honey. This fact was revealed by 2,000 people who participated in this research, commissioned by Skrill, who believed that they could live comfortably for around 30,000 pounds a year. The same study showed that people considered money more important that friends and family even.
People are fine with sacrificing time socializing with friends or even spending time with family when it comes to matters of money – even if it means going out lesser with their partners! Sacrifices after these included clothes, eating out, gym memberships and also charity. End of the day, it seems the world is crunching to become a much smaller place with people preferring to be rich and isolated rather than content with little and with company.
Another thing that the research showed was that people also believed that cash is going to disappear soon, in the next 20 years, with internet and mobile phones being used for shopping instead. It is a sad circle that life is coming to but is this the sad truth of affairs that mankind has to start accepting? One wonders.
